NASA Administrator Charles Bolden talks with reporters at the Shuttle Landing Facility, as Shuttle Program support teams and their families gathered to celebrate their shared efforts on the Space Shuttle Program and support each other as the "shuttle family" prepares to disband. Both Bolden and NASA Kennedy Space Center Director Robert Cabana spoke with reporters and program employees at the landing strip gathering, acknowledging the hardship of short term losses as non-government Shuttle Program employees lose jobs, but hopeful of NASA's future objectives to send astronauts to explore space beyond Earth's orbit.
